Hello,
I am facing problem I have no clue how to approach; recently I obtained new pos, there is motherboard model cd106-ntx inside. It has dedicated port to open cash drawer. Cash drawe I have is lq800, and there is windows 8 embedded running on pos.
After installing motherboard drivers, I found software for testing (opening, checking status) of cash drawer. It works fine, I am able to open drawer, as well as seeing if it is open/close. Problem is that - as far as I see - is not using any of available com ports. There are 6 com ports in the system, but cash drawer port is not using any of these.
At the moment I've tried to configure cash drawer in ax retail; problem is that when change in config is deployed to pos, and user tries to login, error is displayed:
"The given port name does not start with COM/com or does not resolve to valid serial port. Parameter name: portName"
Above makes me feel that ax is able to work with cash drawers connected only to com ports, not to dedicated cash drawer port - am I right? Can anyone confirm? And other question, where in ax configuration I can find information to which com port ax tries to bind, when cash drawer is configured? In retail I can choose only one of: none/windows driver/opos/manual as port for cash drawer, but I am unable to find any place where com number is to be provided.
So in short words:
- is ax retail able to work only with casd drawers connected via com port, or it works also with pos having cash drawer connected through dedicated cash drawer port?
- how to find out com port number name ax retail uses for cash drawer?
regards
Tomasz
