How can we use AX View as a datasource for excel add-In to pull data

Hi All,

I have a requirement to pull data from AX views (Created a view in AOT) into Excel. I tried to achieve it using Excel Add in but I can only see Tables (AX tables) as a source datasource to pull data.

Questions:

1. Can anyone please guide me how can I pull data from Views into Excel?
2. Can Add Data option be used for this requirement, if Yes; How can I use it? [currently I can see three datasources with Group name "Activities", "Budget" and "General Ledger". How can I add more]

I don't want to use ODBC connection to pull data directly from SQL server using "Get External Data" option in Excel. To use this option I have to add users into database security users. Correct me If I am wrong.
