Since MS has not released a CU9 demo VM where I can strip the Contoso DB from within it, I am attempting to upgrade my internal CU8 Contoso DB. To start, I am not using the full CU8 Contoso VM image, I have pulled the database from the VM and have built an AX 2012 R3 CU8 VM from scratch and moved the Contoso db to it and reconfigured it. I have deleted all the batch jobs prior to running the upgrade. I went to LCS, and have run the Software Update tool, it downloaded the CU9 KB (amongst others) and it applied them without any issue. I ran a parallel compile once completed and got NO errors. I then proceeded to run the Software Update checklist and have made it all the way to the Data Upgrade Cockpit. By the time I had launched it, it says that it had processed 165 out o 202 upgrade script tasks. There are 37 left.
The remaining are all in the "Ready" status. I have only one locally installed AOS and that is reflected in the SysServerConfig, BatchServerConfig, and all other places. I checked that the correct AOS is listed in for the Data Upgrade batch group. I am running the upgrade as the AX Admin user (it says admin in the bottom right of the client and I checked the UserInfo table). I can see the Data Upgrade batch job under Batches and it is set to Waiting.
I have restarted the AOS a few times as well for good measure. This is my second time attempting to upgrade this system with the exact same result. I have attached a screenshot of a portion of the "ready" tasks in the Data Upgrade Cockpit. Any clues??? I really could use this so I can show my clients CU9 (I am already scheduled to install 4 in the next week or so)....
