AX2012 R3 Transport Management system

Hi,

   Have anyone implemented AX2012 R3 TMS for the middile east region, my question is basically Ax2012 using Zipcodes to calculate the distance between From and To zipcode and based on that the rate master is working. 

But what if country does not use Zipcodes, for EX If we take UAE what i understood is they are using only the Postal codes.

Following are my queries!!

Query 1: Does AX2012 R3 will only work based on zipcodes?

Query 2: Can i use Postal code as zipcode, if so what are the Pros and cons

Query 3: Any other Workaround available?
