Inatalling AX 2012

Hi all,

I am trying to install AX 2012 by following “Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Installation Guide”, published on August 2011.

Namely, after successfully installing several full AX 2012 instances on single servers (component by component) I am trying to separate AOS and SQL Server, SharePoint …

My intention is to install AOS on serverA and SQL Server (including Reporting and Analysis) and SharePoint on serverB.

My servers (serverA and serverB) are not local machines, part of my domain though and I am accessing them via RDC. I am not domain administrator, but I am local administrator on both servers. I am using dedicated domain accounts for all services (SQL DB Engine, AOS, BCP proxy …).

My first attempt to install databases and AOS was unsuccessful. I wasn’t able to finish AOS part of installation wizard, due to the error message: “Cannot connect to serverB.” As if SQL Server wasn’t running at all. Digging through log files, it seemed that error originated from SQL error message:”Cannot generate SSPI context.”

After studying, several blogs and forums, I have disabled TCP/IP protocol on SQL Server Configuration Manager > SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for MSSQLServer.    Then I was able to create databases on serverB and install AOS on serverA.

Now, I can’t start AOS. It sits in Starting phase for up to 10 minutes and then stops. Four error messages and one warning are generated in Event Viewer, referencing SSPI (Cannot generate SSPI context), principal name (The target principal name is incorrect), connection information, model (The database serverB\MicrosoftDynamicsAX is not recognized as a model store)…

According to the installation guide Kerberos authentication is not required, but all forums and blogs are pointing to it, based on error messages.

What is it that I am missing here?

How can start my AOS?

Thank you
