Closed Dimensions not visible in drop down

Hi All,

Dimensions in AX 2009 provides a feature to close the dimension.

But unfortunately these closed dimensions are always visible from other modules from the dimension drop downs. 

The point here is that when they are closed why they are still visible to be chosen. Microsfot should have made closed dimensions either not selectable or should not be visible anymore from drop downs itself   instead presenting the error at the time of posting.

I thought microsoft released any patch for it,but there was none.

So now in order to solve the situation we used Record level security on our user groups using dimension table so that Closed dimensions cannot be seen,

simple technique but all always good to spread.
