Loyalty programs across legal entities

Hi,

I read on this website, https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn720457.aspx, that loyalty programs can apply across legal entities. If you want to do that, do you have to leave the customer field empty and use anonymous cards? A customer account only exists in one legal entity.
