Date for posting the reversal of an interest note

Hello

The scenario is this

1. An interest is created in December 2016 and is posted and sent to the customer.
2. In February 2017 there is an agreement to reverse the interest invoice.
3. The December period is put on hold
4. When posting the reversal I would like to have the reversal posted in February and not in December 2016.
   
   Is there a way of setting up the posting period being the period the reversal is created?
   This might be a made as a development instead?
