Integrating Dynamics AX with other .NET applications

Hello guys! I'm writing from Brazil.

I know it is a long message and the English is not very clear, but it would mean the world if anyone could help.

We have a huge interest on implementing Dynamics AX in our company but there is a licensing question that isn't very clear yet. We have developed online applications in .NET format, almost like an e-commerce platform. Roughly, three thousand customers access these applications on a daily basis. We have plans to develop processes like billing, CRM, etc. in these online platforms.

We were told it was possible that, instead of developing these processes, we could use the Dynamics AX environment and its already-developed processes combined with the Enterprise Portal functionality. This could substitute our applications and save a lot of development costs.

The Microsoft partners that we have contacted were not very clear if this was really possible. It would be the best solution for our company, since our core business is not software development (although we do have a development team). And more important than that, what would be the cost, licensing-wise, for this solution? For instance, do I have to acquire a license to every single one of the three thousand customers, that would access the Enterprise Portal?

And since we are talking about licenses now, how do I measure how many CALs for each category of user I have to acquire?
