Best Practice to Migrate Data

Please can anyone advise on best practice ( OR seamless method)  to migrate data from AX 2012 RTM to AX 2012R3. I am currently looking at Microsoft Data Import and Export Framework module OR ATLAS. Has anyone used any of the two and what was the experience.? Apart from the two is there any other application for Data Migration from AX 2012 RTM to AX 2012R3.
