Use subworkflow

Hi

I've already googled ..., but not yet clear on how to use subworkflows for real, e.g. for purchase order approval.

Please provide example for "complex" PO approval with multiple lines for different departments - eg. breaking up 100 steps into one main and 3 subworkflows.
