We are planning to build production Job Sequencing mechanism in AX 2012. User can run the 2nd pass of sequencing and scheduling on top of standard system scheduling. User can define the constraint and various scheduling scenarios to calculate setup time based on the sequence in which products are scheduled.
Can you kindly let me know the things to keep in mind?
Questions out of curiosity
- Can we have multiple process type jobs for the same production order?
- What impact do you foresee if we split the process types job into multiple quantities (i.e. instead of having one run time job for 500 Pcs, we will have 5 process types of job, each for 100 PCs which can be scheduled individually)
- What if we have one setup job for each run time job?
I know that many of you will suggest to have one production order for 100 Pcs each to achieve the same but due to some reason it is not feasible for us to maintain many orders.
