Hello,
As I understand it, when moving AX2012 to Dynamics 365 you loose the direct access to the underlying tables and you therefore need use the BYOD (bring your own database) feature if you want to build a Data Warehouse that is used for other vendors of Business Intelligence solutions.
Is it then possible to get the same tables as we are used to from AX2012?
At the moment we are using the following tables:
CUSTTABLE, ADDRESSCOUNTRYREGION, VENDTABLE, VendInvoiceTrans, inventdim, inventbatch, Purchline, Inventlocation, CUSTINVOICEtrans, CUSTINVOICEjour, SalesLine, SalesTable, Inventtable, inventtrans, VendInvoiceTrans, InventTableModule, ledgertrans, LedgerTableInterval, LedgerTable, ledgerbudget, EMPLTABLE, WRKCTRTABLE, PRODROUTE, PRODCALCTRANS, PRODROUTETRANS, DIMENSIONS
(I don't expect you to go through all tables :) )
We are thinking of either exporting to a local on-premise MS SQL Server or an Azure SQL Database - could to tell me the advantage/disadvantage of either in this situation? or do you have an other solution that you would recommend?
Thank you!
