We currently have 2 cloud hosted environments (D365FO PU15 7.2) that we use for training and integration exploratory work. We got both environments to the same platform and application update and applied our the same customisation model to both. We then took a database backup from one, and attempted to copy to the other.
The environment administrator logged in and all seemed fine (all forms and data showing correctly) until users with "system adminstrator" & "System user" roles tried to log in where it seemed that the "system administrator" role wasn't being applied and only basic functionality from the system user role was visible. The environment we took the DB backup FROM, is functioning as expected.
We tried:
- Adding other roles which seemed to work fine so the issue only seemed relevant to the "system administrator" role.
- Deleting and re-adding the user but this delivered the same result.
- Importing a security configuration XML from our production environment (on the same platform/codebase).
- Restoring and re-applying the DB backup (same result).
Has anyone else encountered this issue or could advise any potential fixes? I'm trying to avoid configuring and migrating the data manually on the (previously) blank environment.
