FIFO costing in logistics or production environment

Hi,

Has anyone experience with FIFO costing in a logistics and/or production envrionment?

I am working for an interational customer with 42 companies.

These companies will all close the stock at month-end on more-ore-less the same time.

We have a concern about the performance when 42 companies are simulateously recalculating from AVG to FIFO.

The customer will be working with AX2012R2.

But any experience on prior versions is welcome as well.
