Can somebody already share his experience with setting up Roles in AX 2012?

Have the standard AX 2012 Roles been used?
Is it better or more efficient to crate own Roles?
Is there an efficient way to assign Users to a Role?
How can you be roughly sure, that the assigned role contains the right privileges?
- A Role has several duties
- Duties may have several Privileges
- A Privilege may have several MenuItems
- In total over 10'000 MenuItems
How do you know which Roles contains which User CAL (Enterprise, Functional, etc.)

Hi,

I am trying to run a batch job based on SysOperation Framework on a Live Server and encountering the following exception. Please note that the same batch job is running successfully on the staging server. I have generated full CIL to resolve this issue but no luck. Please help!

Hello,

I try to add same webparts to the enterprise portal of dax 2009.

The Dynamics User Control Webpart "customers" works fine, for example. The customers are displayed in a grid.

But now I want to add the webpart "EPProjTimeSheet". This webpart is always hidden. If I uncheck the checkbox "hidden" in the webpart propertiers, the checkbox is set again after refresh. Other webparts are always hidden, too.

My testuser has delete permissions to all security keys.

Can anyone help me?

I want to quickly check all of the users on the system are set to the same time zone, the fields seem to ref User.Info but I cannot find that table, how can I see in the AOT all the user set-up?

Hi.

We have a web service developed in Visual Basic .Net, 2008.

The service is installed in IIS7 (Win 2008). The website is configured to use the business connector in the app pool. Ax 2009 has the business connector proxy user configured in the system accounts.

The web service invoke a static function of AX. The function has a parameter of type string. This string is in XML format . When the string is short works fine, but when the string is long (more than 50 characters) fails and the result is the following:

AX Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt

In Event viewer we have two events:

EventID 110

Source: Dynamics .NET Business Connector 5.0

Attempt to clear pointerMap when it still contains objects

And

EventID 110

Source: Dynamics .NET Business Connector 5.0

Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

at BCLogon(LOGON_INFO* , SesPblk_t** , Char** )

If the function is executed in AX with the same information the result is OK.

What could it be?

Hi,

I have started working on data security policy in AX2012.

The requirement I have is to add the range value of XDS query dynamically.

The requirement is when user logs into AX I need to pickup the position the user is assigned to and show the workers only assigned to the position on workers form.

Hence for the XDS query I need to pass the value dynamically on the runtime.

I have tried writing the code in the init and run method of the query to default the range value, but doesn't seems to be working.

My question is does AX execute the code written in the AOT queries or the range value has to be hardcoded which means static.

Please share your thoughts.

I would like to use the automatic bank reconciliation in AX 2012, but when I go to the bank accounts form, I have only access to the "Account reconciliation" functionality (manual functionality). I have not access to the "Bank statement" button (It doesn't appear to the screen).

Which setup do I need to do to be able to use the bank statement functionality ?

Hi,

I had a requirement to see if the address has been changed on the worker. For this I tried setting up the table LogisticsPostalAddress (Fields address,city) and view DirPartyPostalAddressView(Fields address,city) for the DB log setup.

But this doesn't work. When I update the address for the worker and run the log report in DAT company, it doesn't show the data has been update.

Has some one tried enabling DB log address fields.

Please suggest.

The lookup field is defined like this:

Is it possible to restrict certain org unit / location dimension combinations when posting to a ledger account? Example, I don't want Org Unit 6000 to post with Location 1000 to any GL account?

Hi guys,

I am trying to join the generaljournalaccountentry table with the subledgerjournalaccountentry table, to show the origin of the transactions. It seems that there are multiple hits for some rows, how can this be, shouldn't this be 1 on 1?

Used query:

select * from GENERALJOURNALACCOUNTENTRY GJAE left outer join SUBLEDGERJOURNALACCOUNTENTRY SLJAE on GJAE.recid = SLJAE.GENERALJOURNALACCOUNTENTRY

I modified the Cheque_US report to contain a company logo. It shows up on page 1 of the report (the first check), however, it doesn't show up on any subsequent page.

Hi,

I have a strange behavior when I start AX2012R2 in a local environment, specifically when starting a VPN connection to my work environment. When VPN is active (and doe having access to the domain resources where also my active directory account is stored), I get next error when trying to start the local AX2012R2 client from my desktop:

I only get this error when the VPN connection is active. When I disconnect from VPN everything works fine, besides next error when starting

the EP role center I get next error (which I presume, is due to not having an active AD domain account accessible ?)

Has anyone come across the requirement to have trade agreements in place for prospects to be leveraged on quotations? I can post price/discount agreement journals for customers, but I cannot for prospects. Any suggestions if you have seen this requirment before?
