Error while trying to cancel a receipt (cannot be returned because items have already been returned or marked as open transactions.)
While trying to cancel a receipt we get:
Quantity -12,00 cannot be returned because items have already been returned or marked as open transactions.
Any ideas?

Fixed Assets Posting Error for Acquisition/ Acquisition Adjustment Entries
I am receiving this error message;
"Fixed asset 512, value model FNFX-TAX. There is a discrepancy between the journal operations/tax Current and the value model operations/tax Tax. Fixed asset 512, value model COMP-TAX. There is a discrepancy between the journal operations/tax Current and the value model operations/tax Tax."
I am trying to make an acquisition entry under a new value model, FNFX-TAX and at the same time make an acquisition adjustment entry under the old, and incorrect, value model COMP-TAX. However, I am unable to do so as I receive this error. I do not know where this discrepancy exists. Help would be much appreciated!

AxActionPane control is missing, according to document, there should be a AxActionPane control under toolbox/dynamics ax in Visual studio. I don't see it, do I need to register something?

AX 2012 R3 - ax32.exe not responding and force close
This is a fresh installation of AX 2012 R3 with Database, AOS, Client, Debugger, and Management Utilities.After installation, I can open and see the initialization checklist. I can even click to compile application. But after waiting long time, the app hang and when i restart it, it become not responding.
In Event Viewer, I could only see one error :

Setup cost in the production route
I have a BOM item (PRD01) which is consisted of "PART01" and "PART02", one of the operations in the route has "Setup cost" configured.
I get the following costing sheet when i roll-up the cost for the BOM item.
The hourly cost rate for the "Setup" is 52 and it takes 3 hours, so the COGM-L2 above is" 3 * 52 = 156.
I have a production order which produce three pieces of this item. when i estimate the production order i got the costing sheet as below:
The total "Setup" cost is divided to three pieces, each is: 156 / 3 = 52.
So i get the variances like below when i end the production order.
From my point of view, the variance is from: (156 - 52) * 3 = 312.
Anyway, no matter i involve the "Setup" cost in the costing sheet or not, there will be always a variance between the estimated cost to the real cost. cause no body knows how many we will produce. and the setup cost is always changing based on the actual number we produced.
So what's the best practice for involve the "Setup" cost ?

"Work ID not valid" error during Cluster Picking - AX 2012 R3
Hi,
I have created two sales orders and have added two items (001 and 002) on both the sales orders (S1: 001 item/10 cases, 002 item/20 cases and for S2: 001 item/12 cases, 002 item/22 cases) . In the warehouse item 001 is on location A with 35 cases and item 002 is on location B with 50 cases. When work is created for both the orders for both of them item 001 is to be picked from location A and 002 is to be picked from location B. 1 work is created for both the sales orders with 2 picks and 1 put each.
When I try to create the cluster for picking i get an error "Work ID not valid" for both the sales orders work.
However, when I create 2 sales orders with 1 item each the cluster picking works - as described in the implementation guide.
Can anyone please help how to resolve this error.

AX 2012 performance improvement
Our customer experiences low performance issue after upgrade from AX 2009 to AX 2012. Their current configuration is
1. AOS server (virtual server):
- 16 Processors E5-2670
- 64GB RAM,
- Win Server 2012 x64
2 SQL server (physical server):
- 10 Processors E5-2690 v2
- 128 GB
- Win server 2012 R2 x64
They have about 160 client users (total), about 60 users working in the same time.
Their database size is about 100GB.
They are using most of AX modules, mainly production control, sales, sourcing, master planning, ledger).
They are wondering, how to speed-up our AX 2012 R3.
They are considering:
1. move virtual AOS to physical machine (similar tech parameters),
2. get second AOS for batch task (balance)
Do You think, that any of above solutions could significantly impact performance?

AX2012 No inventory consumption with planning dimension "batch"
Hello all,
our customer has a production, where mixing of material batches for one production is not allowed.
This means, each material requirement of a manufacturing or sales order can only be satisfied from one batch.
In AX there is a setting "same batch selection" which takes care of the sales order reservation process. In order to benefit from this, dimension "batch" has to be specified as planning dimension (tracking group).
As soon, as I use this setting, I am no longer able to consume inventory.
Reason is:
Inventory has specific batch information, requirement has empty batch dimension and master plan does not consolidate across batches. According to my finding:
As soon as one uses batch as planning dimension it is no longer possible to consume inventory!
I understand the "failing consolidation" process, which is caused by dimension "batch" being planning dimension. On the other hand it is hard to believe, that inventory consumption no longer works.
Is there someone, who has succesfully dealt with this issue?

Reference Groups - Unknown value
Hi everyone!
I ran into this issue. I've a custom table that needs to store an address thus I've added a foreign key to the LogisticsPostalAddress Table. I've added this field to a form and set the replacementGroup property of the control to LocationReference, like SalesTable form.
Until now everething works as expected. I can view all the adresses in my form wihtout problems. The issue arises when there is a modification in one of the addresses (like the street) that are stored on my custom table.
After someone modifies one of the used addresses (no matter wich field), the records that use this address start displaying "Unknown" on the reference group control.
The RecIds stored in the custom table are not modified and are correct. The strange this is that if I go the "View Details" on one of this "Unknown" values the address is opened correctly.
Any ideas what I'm missing?

Tabular & Multidimensional approach with Power BI
Hi all,
I am trying to build some common Supply Chain KPIs and metrics using the default cubes in AX. I haven't used MDX much or really any of the cubes. I need to find which dimensions and measures to use to get different metrics like total sales, inventory value, sales order aging, etc. I couldn't find much documentation on those. Before I got too involved with the cubes, I wanted to know if these can be easily captured using a tabular approach (connecting to the tables in SQL or creating an OData feed from the tables/views). Ultimately, I want to create the charts and metrics using Power View. Power Query was just updated to allow connections to SSAS cubes directly in Excel, and already has had support for SQL/OData.
Before I invest too much time in learning the cubes and MDX, I want to know anyone has advice or experience with a tabular approach and/or using Power BI to capture the data.

Hi All ,
Project accounting in Ax 2012 R2.
I have a question regarding the forecast of project .
a) Is it mandatory to maintain the forecast ?
b) If i want to create the forecast for hour , Item ,Expense in one form ,what is common place to define the forecast for all types , instead defining in separate forms ( project details form - > Plan tab - Forecast for Hour , Item , Expense)
c) Without forecast shall i directly create the project budget ?
d) Can i know the pros/cons if do not define the forecast ( but defined project budget )

Posting SAD documents - access deny to class
When accountant is trying to post a SAD Document she gets an error "Access denied: PurchFormLetter_SADInvoice_PL".
This is regional functionally but it problem is to set access to class which has to server method to override role.
I've tried everything with role, with action menu item and in whole company only administrator can post a SAD document.
Anybody had got similar problem?

I am getting this error in the AIF Queue manager when I am trying to generate an XML via AIF service. Does anyone has any idea about it?

N-1020 is not taking an effect in one store Only
Hello all
I have a problem need your help please
when I send N-1020 Discount job it's not effecting on POS terminals which are located in one store only, while the rest are working fine.
I checked the outgoing messages in store DB there is no error (successfully done )
while in POS machine the price is not updated in there.
all N JOBS are successfully done on the same store and affected on POS except N-1020 ,
any reply or help would be highly appreciated
