In General ledger > Periodic > Foreign currency revaluation, I do not understand the necessity to specify the starting and ending dates for the revaluation. Because ideally Foreign Currency Revaluation affects all the outstanding amounts in Foreign Currencies as on the date of revaluation . So what is the importance of specifying the "from" date ?

i'd like to export the product entity data from AX to CSV to create an master item template for importing new products. while exporting after running get staging data in the preview of the staging data i'm missing a lot of vaules. There are many products missing the ecoResProductDimensionGroup_Name, EcoResStorageDimensionGroup_Name, EcoResTrackingDimensionGroup_Name, some other products have it in staging. In released products all products have the dimension groups assigned. i'm using 2012R3Cu8.
Has anybody some hints about this?

I've faced strange issue on our customer side in Production Material consumption voucher for couple of production orders, After ending the Order, system is showing financial cost below than physical cost for one of the Raw Material item. Same thing is appearing in Price calculation >> Overview costing Tab. (Realized cost is less than Estimated cost for that item)
Can anyone provide detail clarification for this issue & how to resolve it.
Do i need to run the Inventory recalculation or Inventory close process for those months in order to adjust the amount??? Or is there any other way around to resolve it.

I enter by mistake wrong item in the sales order and it is paid by visa which has some bank charges also. When i add another line with the -ve to make the previous entry zero. I found that the bank charges does not become zero but become double. Then I have to adjust it by making a JV.

I have the scenario where I don't want Sales order COGS to be posted before the Product receipt has been posted. Let me explain with an example.
ItemA is Registered on a Purchase order into the warehouse and then put away into a picking location. Product receipt is not posted at this time. The registered quantity is sold on a sales order, which is packing slip updated and invoiced. This all happens on the same day.
ItemA is actual costed, and since AX did not know the cost at the time the sales order was invoiced, the cost on the item record is used. This cost is posted to the G/L: COGS is debited, Stock is credited. At this time, PO Product Receipt (which will debit the Stock account) has not been posted.
I want to avoid this scenario, and I am happy to ensure that ItemA cannot be sold until after the product receipt has been posted. I can use 'Stock status' to make the item unavailable for sale.
I thought about a modification to the product receipt routine, to make it update the Stock status, but I cannot see how AX can know, once the item has been put away, which stock 'belongs' to the product receipt.
I also thought about the 'Financial negative inventory' tick box on the Item Model Group. This would ensure the stock could not be sales invoiced until enough had been purchase invoiced. But there is nothing similar for packing slip / product receipt.
I literally have no ideas. Any suggestions welcome!

I am currently using the Stock Movement journal to issue inventory items. I would like AX to pick up the issue account from the item group rather than specifying the offset account. In my scenario, the warehouse user is not aware of the GL accounts and the user may issue items mapped to different item group. The question is :
Apart from sales orders, is movement journal the only way to issue items? In this case, is there a setting to pick the GL account from the item group rather than capturing the offset

I have an issue where the SO Lines are being received from a third party B2B platform at the finished goods level however the warehouse need to receive the Pick Request at the component level. Is there a way to generate the lines in the Pick Request using the BOMs? I would imagine here a similar process to how the PO Lines are generated. Or is it necessary that the conversion occurs at the warehouse?

Can I use financial dimension with ledger account like ( (insurance) expense )
in general journal & assign it in AP / Charges /charges codes /posting /credit account
Because ll charges accounts working without financial dimension.
Does this will work in both AP & GL properly ....? And what about GL reports can I track this dimension. ?

I am currently attempting to set up an installation for Dynamics AX 2012 R3. Using the prerequisite checker tool I have successfully met all the requirements except for Project Server. Project Server 2013 SP1 is installed, but it is not being detected. I have also tried installing Project Server 2013 (no service pack) to no avail. They are installed using enterprise keys.
Currently Installed:
OS is Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter and I am setting this up just as a development machine.
How can I get Project Server 2013 (SP1) to be detected by Dynamics AX?
On a side note, is there also any way to get Visual Studio 2013 update 4 Ultimate working with AX? (Also not being detected by the checker).
