Your books (videos) recommendations for fundamentals used by AX

Hi guys,

I am in the process of deepen and widen my knowledge around Dynamics AX and Microsoft systems and technologies used in the enterprises. What books would you recommend? The areas I have in my head are for example:

  • Networking with focus on MS technologies
  • .NET
  • WCF
  • PowerShell
  • SQL database management system and related products (SSAS, SSRS)
  • IIS
  • Windows Server
  • ...other related technologies from MS stack

I think it will be quite easy to find good books covering each of these topics in detail. What I am looking for is more "introduction" or "fundamentals" books which cover as much as needed for AX without going too much into details.

If I had to choose a role, which typically knows about all that stuff, I'd say it is a mix of Senior Developer / Technical Solution Architect / Business Systems Architect.

For example, I started to read the book "Fundamentals of Microsoft® .NET Programming" (although so far most of the stuff is quite basic). On the AX side, I would say the book "Inside Dynamics AX 2012" would fall into category of books I am looking for (this one might be too complicated for persons who just started with AX though, but for me it is ideal level at the moment).

What are your favorites and recommendations?

Thanks a lot!
