BOM Calculation: Multilevel explosion doesn't explode transferred Items

Hi everybody,

I'm working on the following scenario:

Item S is produced in an external warehouse (SW) and has in BOM the Item B which is produced in the main warehouse (MW).

It exists a refillment principle for item B with min/Max value ( in warehouse form SW is refilled by MW). Item B Coverage works with min/max and Transfer principle from MW to SW.

On the Item S BOM: the item B is defined with consumption on SW (BOM Line Type: Item)

When I run a BOM calculation with item price calculation: type Production order and explosion Multilevel. The system does not explode Item B, because it sees the Warehouse definition (for Item B) on the BOM and sees that the Requirement must be satisfied with a transfer from the main warehouse. Indeed when I  delete SW warehouse from the BOM line (Item B), the system explodes the Item B.

My question is: is that correct?

As far as I understood the Multilevel explosion should force the explosion to the active BOM at site level, the behavior I've described seems to be more consistent with an explosion of type: According to BOM Line type.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Bye

Federico
